
Whole wheat no knead bread
Homemade delicious no-oil whole wheat bread with just four ingredients.
Ingredients
- 3 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 1¾ cup water warm
Instructions
- Mix the flour, salt and yeast and gradually add warm water and lemon juice. Mix gently with a wooden spoon until a homogeneous mixture forms. You can knead for 15-20 min for a fluffier texture.
- Cover with plastic wrap. Make sure it is airtight. Use a rubber band if needed.
- Store for about 8-12 hours in a place of constant temperature (room temperature). Tip: you can use your microwave but of course do not turn on the microwave. It will double its volume within this time period.
- Place the dough on a floured surface and generously sprinkle some additional flour on top. Keep folding while you sprinkle more flour as needed until the dough is not sticky.

- Take a clean bowl and place a sheet of parchment paper in the bowl. Place the dough on the parchment paper in the bowl (folding facing down).

- Cover the bowl with 1-2 kitchen towels and store in a draft-free space at constant room temperature (you can use the microwave again). Let it sit for 30-45 minutes.
- Meanwhile place the empty dutch oven in the oven with the lid on and preheat at 450 °F / 230 °C (bake mode, not convection bake mode).
- Take the preheated dutch oven out and set aside. Grab the parchment paper with the dough inside and place it in the dutch oven (including the parchment paper). Place the lid back on and bake at 450 F for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid of the dutch oven and bake for 15-20 more minutes for a nice brown crust.
